All funds raised from the Co-op Balfron 10k, which takes place on Sunday, 22 April, will go to Balfron Primary School. The race is open to runners over the age of 15 and will follow a scenic route heading from Balfron Campus out towards Fintry.
Scottish Co-op, which has a store in the village, is the main sponsor of the event, with other local businesses including GMC Engraving & Trophies Ltd, Mulberry Bush Montessori Ltd, Speedy LCH, Careth Landscaping, Forth Valley NHS, Balfron Campus, and Jewson lending their support.
Ann McIntosh, Head Teacher of Balfron Primary School, said: “We are thrilled that the Balfron 10K run has become a reality. It is very much a community event, reinforcing the school’s focus on healthy living, exercise and well-being.
“Such support from Balfron and the business community is wonderful and much appreciated. We look forward to the event and are encouraging staff and parents to take part.”
Peter Stevens, store manager of the Balfron Co-op said: “Balfron is a vibrant community and the Co-op is delighted to be the main sponsor of this exciting event.
“By being involved in the 10K road race, we wanted to show our support for Balfron and endorse our commitment to a healthier lifestyle for all. The race isn’t just for people from Balfron, but further a field too and it promises to be a great day out for everyone.”
