April 25, 2012In short: Well organised, friendly race – the hills just make it interesting!
In full: First time doing this race ( I am fairly new to this running malarky) but really enjoyed it – despite the undulating route. Weather and enthusiastic support along the way helped. Will be back next year to try to improve on my time!

April 25, 2012I really enjoyed the run; it is a different and challenging course compared with most due to the hills, however fantastic location.  This is my third year and looking forward to many more.

April 25, 2012In short: Another corker from the boys and girls at balfron!
In full: My 3rd year in a row and it never fails to to the biz. i recommended this race to another running colleague who brought a friend and they, despite the hills, absolutely loved the event. the atmosphere is great, the course hilly but beautiful and the locals are so supportive. i feel like helping out marshaling next year to make a contribution to this race but I’m too selfish to not race it again next year. it’s not a pb candidate really but I nearly took 1 50 off last year’s time so still very happy. very good course to get your 10k season going. wonderful all round event and possibly my favourite Scottish 10k of the calendar. well done to all involved. 10/10 yet again. I will continue to recommend it to everyone.

April 24, 2012In short: An excellent event with a fantastic atmosphere and slick organisation. well done.
In full: An excellent 10k with what appears to be a good club race at the sharp end, and loads of support for all of us behind them. Thanks to the organisers, the ‘workers’ and all those who create the atmosphere. Lovely to see so many still around to see the prizegiving.

April 23, 2012In short: You have to love the hills, they’re part of the scenery!
In full: I can’t believe I set a PB on this course.
Yes it’s ‘undulating’, yes it’s ‘hilly’ but…
you haven’t done a 10K until you’ve done Balfron!
P.s. please forget the cotton T-shirts, Please!

April 23, 2012In short: A very smoothly organised and very friendly event.
In full: After over a year away from racing I really enjoyed this event. It’s really well organised but with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The big hill on the return leg of the out and back course is taxing, but the local support and encouragement will get you home. Very enjoyable.

April 23, 2012In short: I’ve never loved the great outdoors so much as running the Balfron 10K – my RAVE RUN!
In full: The faster I ran, the faster I was done and boy – the sweet, juicy, cool oranges at the finish, never tasted so good! The conscientious and mindful nature of the attention to detail of the whole event from the four pins neatly put together for your number to the numerous politely phrased signs throughout the race, absolutely put the runner first. The piper at the half way point, the Usain Bolt fix we all needed to smash our own PBs! This year was a new track record for the male and female and a prize for the first local – nice one on both counts. Local residents along they way from young and younger, cheered rapturously as we ran past, many with jelly babies and more water, fantasitic we puffed and huffed our way to the finish and brought an infectious smile to our faces. They say that the real purpose of running isn’t to win a race; its to test the limits of the human heart – well, to the organisers and folk of Balfron, you have huge hearts in your generosity. Thank you and hear’s to 2013.

April 22, 2012In short: Fantastic Event for First Timer
In full: This was my first 10K ‘event’. I have been an avid 5K runner for years now, and frequently enjoy resistance (weights) training. I thought that signing up for this would prove a real challenge. I was correct. The hilly nature of the run was very challenging, which made the finish line so very rewarding! The organisation of the event was very good and the atmosphere very friendly. This event has made my weekend and given me the confidence to up my running distance from 5K to 10K and change my training to increase the distance. This event has made my weekend and given me such a buzz!
